Amazing bed that is very well made and very solid. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a good value for money bed base with good storage and great mechanism to open up. I have a very heavy mattress (800 springs) and it lifts up no problem at all. My only criticism is the amount of packaging that Dunelm appear to want to use when delivering this….. double bagged and wrapped in card and shrink wrap – too much in the modern day in my opinion.

I am pleased with this bed base. The base is solid and easily joined together. There is no instructions. Join the bed base (use a screwdriver to push the existing hole through the fabric) first. Once it is firmly fixed together push the 2 side bars in, on each section. The platform top has a non-slip fabric to help the mattress (not included) stay in place. There is fixings included to fix a headboard (not included). It is a very comfortable bed. The fabric used is nice and a good colour of Grey/Silver. It was delivered very fast and I was kept informed on tracking when it would be arriving to the hour. The delivery men were very polite and helpful.

This is the second ottoman style bed I have bought recently although I purchased the first one (an end opening one) from a different retailer. I’ve been really pleased with it and decided to buy a second one for our spare bedroom.
Because of the room layout I chose a side opening one this time. This was a mistake as without a wall or headboard to open it against the mattress slides off. This means I need help to hoik the mattress back on as the weight of it helps the closing mechanism. Otherwise I need help to close the bed and keep it closed until the mattress is back in position.The whole point of the storage was to be able access this myself without help!
Your bed has a supposedly non-slip top but it does not work with my existing mattress (which is fairly new). I don’t recall seeing a disclaimer that might suggest the non-slip top only works with a compatible mattress, or perhaps it is meant to work with any mattress in which case it doesn’t!
In every other respect I am very pleased with the quality and in fact it is better quality than the first one I bought and I like the feet better than the first one as well.

On the plus side delivery was exactly as advised, it was well packed and overall this is a very good comfortable bed. On the minus side the mattress slips when the ottoman base is lifted but this was cured by using a non slip sheet. Also the thread on the bolts supplied to attach a headboard were poorly machined making it difficult to screw them in. Hence only 4 stars.

We ignore all the bad reviews, it was the best priced ottoman that we found (after 3 weeks of searching) and yes you do have to break through into the fabric to screw frames securely together but surely it’s best for us (the customer) to do that as Dunelm aren’t to know which way we’re having the bed (as in if it opens up left or right and I most certainly wouldn’t want pre-cut holes on show.
Its a beautiful well made frame! It opens well, when the mattress is on it closes effortlessly
We knew it didn’t come with the headboard but we have already decided when we’ve got some extra money to buy the oversized one.

I bought this bed as I was finding it difficult to bend to open the drawers in my previous bed. It is quite stiff to open at the moment but should loosen up with use. Plenty of storage space.
