First woodwick I had was the Woodwick Vanilla Bean oblong candle. It almost looked like a mini fireplace, I loved it! Problem is – it’s too expensive to replace it.
So I settled for the WoodWick Hourglass in Fireside – sure enough, I didn’t settle for less! If you’ve ever just melted and caramelized sugar in a sauce pan – that’s what this particular candle smells like! Just has a touch of sweet, woodsy scent along with it. Love how the lid of the candle doubles as a base to protect your surfaces!
When you light it for the first time, the flame will appear offset but just give it a chance to do its job. The flame engulfs the wood wick and immediately starts crackling – just like a fireplace on a small scale! The flame is bright enough to light up a small room for a romantic or soothing environment. Very therapeutic.
Like any candle, you have to maintain them. Make sure to carefully read the label on the bottom of the jar before you light it so you know what to do. Please don’t flip it while it’s lit and be careful when blowing it out as the wax on these candles are much less viscous than other candles. I don’t recommend using this candle for longer than 3 1/2 to 4 hours cause the wax liquefies quickly on the second or third use.
This candle is totally worth every bit of the $18 I paid for it and I look forward to buying my next one from here! Shipped quickly, got here the next day.

Purchased this candle on Prime Day. One of my favorite scents is Yankee’s Pink Sands. It’s great for the summer, but it is a sweet scent. I wanted something very different to change it up. The description for this candle (Fireside) says: bergamot, amber, exotic woods, and musk. Like others who’ve left reviews, I STRUGGLE to try to describe the smell. It is definitely NOT anything sweet, but it IS a DEEP, warm, luscious, cozy, homey smell. Not sure it SMELLS anything like a fire, but perhaps it’s the musk that gives that “feeling”. It would be a PERFECT companion to a fireplace going, or to a gas or electric log “fake” fireplace. Since it was burning in the kitchen and I’d been in the family room, the scent wafted to me in a very nice way, but I was unaware of any crackling that may have been going on. I don’t care about crackling. To me, the presentation and most importantly, the scent is all important. It burned quite evenly for several hours and the wax is even upon cooling. It doesn’t appear as if much was used. I am so impressed and loving this scent, I purchased 2 more at the Prime Day price. When summer ends, it’ll be the PERFECT fall/winter candle, however, personally, it’s so lovely, it could be used year round. WONDERFUL, elevated, rich, homey scent!

I love woodwick candles. I have a black cherry one which I love lighting and listening to the crackle, but what I really wanted was something that would smell like a proper wood fire too. They have several “fire” fragrances, bonfire, fireside, etc, but based on other reviews I thought I’d try this one. Definitely smokey! Success!

The only problem is I’m concerned about the chemicals, the inconvenience of lighting them, and the ordinary, looking candles that we are used to this candle however, has a modern look a modern wick and a modern way about it that makes looking at this candle as well as smelling it’s essence a fantastic purchase

After buying this candle in Humidor and loving the scent, tght I’d try this as “fireplace” is one of my fave winter scents to burn, this one did not disappoint!! It has a sweetness that blends well with the smoke scent. Fills the room nicely . I always burn for 3-4 hours to avoid pooling and uneven burn. At this price point it’s definitely worth the buy, the Woodwick website charges $35 USD, and they don’t ship to Canada! Highly recommend (but Humidor is definitely my favorite scent) UPDATE: After burning this candle every night, I noticed a layer of melted wax all over my counter, the flickering of the wick must cause the wax to spit up&out, not sure if this wld ever be a fire hazard but the fact I have wax all over the counter, I wld not repurchase or recommend
