I happen to love the scent of lilacs. The flowers and their scent (along with lillies of the valley) are the epitome of springtime and the month of May for me, as my Mother’s birthday was in May and rarely did a year go by without this one relative bringing her a big bouquet of freshly cut lilacs she had cut from the lilac bushes growing on her property. My sister and I would pick lillies of the valley, since they bloomed at the same time, but safely at ground level so it was something we could manage.
This Yankee Candle Company’s lilac candle smells so similar to a lilac bloom it really is quite amazing for me to realize it is actually a candle emitting the scent I smell now when using it and not an actual lilac flower in a bouquet sitting on a table someplace back in time in mid May. I love it. The lilac scent from this candle is really quite strong in its intensity, as lilacs are known to be. Since this candle came in a large styled mason jar with removable lid, I can just remove the lid and not even burn the candle to get a whiff of the scent. Actually burning the candle gives you even a stronger scent. The pastel purple coloring of the wax used is pretty to see, and perfect for a lilac scented candle.
I happen to like the larger sized candles in the mason jar made by Yankee Candle Company more than their smaller sized candles. While heavier and larger than their other candles, the lid fits tightly on its top when not burning the candle, helping to preserve the scent of the candle for a longer period of time, as well as keeping the candle free from dust etc, if you want to store the candle away for a time. The mason jars look good sitting out on a counter or table. Candles made in them are harder to light however after they have burned down lower in the jar, as you either need a long match, a piece of spaghetti, or else a lighter that can reach the wick when you want to burn the candle.
I am not sure if the wax is of soy or from petroleum, as soy is considered cleaner overall for the environment when you burn a candle, that according to those who should actually know will say, but this candle burns well and is one of my favorite scented candles I have tried, and so I will purchase this again in the future, rather than trying another. Personally, I prefer the scented candle better than the actual lilac bush which I had planted in the yard at one time, as the candle is easier to maintain and smells just as good as the real bush.
This candle was a win-win for me on all accounts and I highly recommend it if you love the scent of lilacs and wish you could smell their blooms year round.

Just my opinion –
I love the smell of fresh cut roses but I can’t smell much of it. What is good about this scent of lilac is it has a noticeable smell from across the room. It still has a flower smell but you can actually smell it.
The wax is weird because it’s mostly a lavender color but little white beads of what I’m assuming is also wax stick up out of the lavender wax. It doesn’t hurt anything but it’s just peculiar and takes some of the beauty away.
It melts fast and there’s a black smoke residue that covers the top part of the glass. I feel like they don’t last that long but that’s probably because I burn the candle whenever I’m home.
I think it’s a good value for the price but I hope they don’t raise the price to $30 like the rose candle whenever they find out the lilac candle is just as good or better.

Ich habe mir diese Kerze blind gekauft ohne zu wissen wie sie genau riecht und ich habe meine Kauf nicht bereut. Da ich mehrere Yankees besitze bin ich mit der Qualität, Brenndauer und dem Preis mehr als Zufrieden. Der Duft ist einfach himmlisch. Er erinnert mich an meine Kindheit als mein Opa meiner Oma aus dem Garten ein riesen Straus Flieder mit Heim brachte. Der Duft ist ganz dezent und wenn man sich im Raum befindet in dem die Kerze steht kommt immer mal ein schöner hauch Flieder Duft in die Nase. Ich würde den Duft als dezent und sehr sehr angenehm bezeichnen.

I L❤️VE Yankee candle! I have my entire life, it was the only brand of candles my mom would use and I remember going to the Yankee candle store inside of the mall. Other than bringing back fond memories, the smells of all the ones I’ve tried are amazing! It fills a large room if not more with beautiful scents! The price is very reasonable for the quality of their candles. They use good wax and wicks that don’t burn off quickly. The mouth of even the jars which i think are probably their hardest to light is still big enough for a women’s hand to easily fit in to light the candles when they get low if you do not use a candle lighter. They are very easy to use as long as you don’t put it in a confined space which should be common sense but, common sense isn’t to common these days unfortunately. The candle jars and other containers don’t get hot and will not melt, stain, drip wax, or ruin whatever surface you put it on, all though I do not recommend setting it on any electronics, you don’t wanna push your luck! All around the LILAC BLOSSOMS was absolutely amazing just a strong rich scent but not over powering at all. I highly recommend trying all of the scents in your favorite fragrance category and thun the next closest! Kitchen spice is my favorite thus far! I highly, HIGHLY recommend Yankee Candle co. You won’t be disappointed!!
